By shifting your mindset you can overcome any influences and beliefs that you may feel are negative enabling you to build more positive feelings and thoughts.
By learning self-hypnosis to enable you to go into a state of calm relaxation you will be able to make the whole experience more in your control. You will also be able to use personal visualisation to aid your labour and delivery. You will learn how to focus constructively in order to manage the birth of your baby in the best way for you. As well as all of the above you will learn how to remain positive, in control and in communication.
At The Clerkenwell Group we have specialist Independent Midwifes trained in Confident Childbirth as well as practitioners in Confident Childbirth dedicated to this most interesting and rewarding part of Cognitive Hypnotherapy.
By using Cognitive Hypnotherapy you will be able to access the part of the brain that can raise your pain threshold, so it may be possible to control the pain to how much or how little you feel is necessary for you. This may seem like a tall order, but surgeons Jack Gibson (retired) and Angel Escudero have carried out over 1,400 operations using only hypnotic or psychological anaesthesia. Also in some hospitals in Belgium they only use sedation and hypnotherapy to carry out many operations and this has reduced the need for drugs by 90%.
At The Clerkenwell Group we would suggest that if possible it would be a good idea for you to practise Yoga during your pregnancy, as this is a very good way of helping you use self-hypnosis.
