To help explain why Cognitive Hypnotherapy is so successful at helping people loose weight it is because unlike any other species on this planet we have attached an emotional reward to food. All other creatures will eat until they are full then wait until the hunger returns to go and hunt or forage again to satisfy their needs.
This is because other creatures do not eat emotionally. This means that the reason why so many people in the world are overweight is because as a species we have learned to use food as a way to change how we feel about things all around us.
All of our clients at the Clerkenwell Group who come to see us with weight problems eat when they are bored, feeling lonely, sad, miserable or it could be any other emotional problem. All of these reasons have nothing at all to do with feeling hunger. In our modern society where we do not have the need to hunt or forage anymore we can use foods as a quick fix or as a quick reward to feeling good. Infact it is going to cause weight problems, which is only going to make us feel worse about our feelings.
